No Muse is Good Muse

As you may have noticed, the blog muse has deserted me. So much so that I have nothing to say about this. I do feel strangely better for it.

  1. Funny, I was just thinking that you'd be an excellent guest on the new Radio 4 discussion show You Say Potato, I Say Starchy, Tuberous Crop from the Perennial Solanum Tuberosum of the Solanaceae Family.

You could start by complicating the question: "Are there any aliens?"

  2. Palate jaded, eh? There's a lot of it about.

Novels, for instance, having mined out the subjective interest of human beings, should be handed over to other species and their ghost-writers to have a crack. First up: chimp lit.

Could also be taken in other directions, corvine, delphine, etc.

  3. Don't worry. The same thing happened to me and it only lasted a year.

  4. Take a month off, does wonders for one's sense of self, plus you get lots of crazy ideas in the interval.

  5. By the way, George Steiner is publishing his New Yorker essays - no excuse for you not to do so with your various articles.

  12. I'm definitely not Elberry. I'm not even here, really, I'm just looking for my trombone.

  13. No surprise you lost the muse just after that post on Lovelock. Once you figure out that everything is connected to everything else, there isn't a lot more to say. You should never have let Nige slip through your grasp. He knew when it was time to talk about butterflies.

  14. No, Mark, he shouldn't be resorting to drugs for inspiration yet.

Not until he's at least exhausted the Guardian comment pieces.

  15. Ah but Guardian comment is a drug, Brit. The drug of discontent!

  17. Just a passing thought, dragging one's blog behind one like Linus's blanket can lead to all sorts of unlooked for complications.

  18. 22 comments to date say you're doing the right thing, Bryan.

  19. Bryan, I know theatre often (usually?) disappoints but I'd recommend a trip to see Jerusalem. May provide some blogspiration.

  20. Hi Bryan,

Haven't you been wearing your cowboy boots?

    Yours,

  22. Secretly, you want to hand over your blog to Richard Madeley.

  23. Actually, Elberry, I would like to apologise for my early link to those ridiculous monkeys. This is the link to the dancing monkeys I meant to post.

  24. Well I hate to be pedantic in the face of such a thing, but surely within the construct of the transcription of 'n' to 'm', you should be saying 'Mo Muse is Good Muse' Chip's got the right idea.

Having said that I'm a bit blogweary myself. Maybe it's the summer. The effort on our immune systems of fighting off swine flu. No... maybe time for a cup of tea.

  25. This blog has now achieved a Zen-like state. I find that I come here to relax and to rake your pebbles.

  26. Yes, this is now my all-time favourite Thought Experiments post, beating even The Guns of Norwich.

  27. I'm happy to stand here shaking my moneymaker as long as this silence continues.

  28. I don't know if it's the silence getting to me but I have now started to hang around Ed Hardy's socks.
