Nicole Kidman in Zombie Horror Crash

Ohmygod, ohmygod. Nicole Kidman has been involved in a zombie horror crash. Her publicist Catherine Olim explains that the star was 'trying to shake zombies off the bonnet of her Jaguar'. I am amazed, even outraged, that in a zombie-infested city like Los Angeles she doesn't have someone to do that for her.

  1. You can never be too careful when working with zombies. I presume with your experience in the newspaper industry, you know this better than most, Bryan.

  2. And this is what happens when you don't go for the anti-zombie paintwork option when you buy your jag.

  3. Yes, Andrew, I have sunk pints of bitter ale with some Zombies in my time. We got on quite well. Now, of course, they all go into management consultancy. Er, that's not what you do is it. And, Chippy, you're quite right. A ridiculous oversight by so prominent a star. She has probably forgotten he wooden stakes also.

  4. For a while I was plagued by a recurring nightmare in which lumbering zombie hordes would chase me, bite me, and subsequently turn me into a zombie, and I would then be forced to lumber around with them.

Somebody told me that this was a very common dream and meant that I felt my life was monotonous, repetitive and directionless. Of course this might have been quackery and the cause was simply a recent late-night, quite drunken viewing of Dawn of the Dead, which gave me the willies.

Anyway, hopefully I’ll dream about Nicole Kidman tonight instead.

  5. No, not a management consultant, Bryan. In fact, I don't think I've ever even met one of these creatures. And to be frank, I'm not too convinced of the reality of their existence- most likely an urban myth, a millenarian fantasy propagated by the likes of Peter Ackroyd and Jeffrey Archer.

  6. Hmm -- my zombie lore tells me a wooden stake isn't sufficient to kill a zombie. I think you have to cut the head off.

See "Shaun of the Dead," very funny version of "Dawn of the Dead" in which BILL NIGHY, my favorite actor, gets to play a zombie....Who loves his Jag.

  7. Susan:

I think the stake is for the vampires. Plenty of them in LA, too.

Zombies are easy to stop, slow-moving and stupid. They are pushovers. The horror of them is that they grind you down with sheer persistence and weight of numbers.

A bit like hard left bloggers.
