Jade Questions

But, before that, I'm puzzled by this Jade Goody story. The media money is said to be going to the care of her children and I don't doubt it is. But there would seem to be a problem. It looks as though Jack the lad may not be at liberty to care for them. So who will? And will Jack be taking a cut of the proceeds? How does Jade's mother fit in? I ask because, on the basis of my probably incomplete reading, nobody else has, perhaps out of deference to the poor girl's plight. Of course, one could say this is none of my business. But, of course, it is because publicity of this kind effectively invites everybody's participation. Anyway, if anybody has any answers....

  3. Will there be a procession through London, followed by a service in Westminster Abbey, with Elton John playing the Big Brother theme tune on Paul Oakenfold's decks?

  4. Gordon, we have it on good authority that Ant & Dec will perform the last rites. OK magazine has the exclusive rights to the obituary.

  5. Will Ant & Dec actually read James 5:14-15 or will it be sent out by Text?

Pretty much, except it will be "chav in the wind" playing.

  8. The children would normally be adopted in these circumstances. Jack is not the father. Clever lawyers should have set up a trust fund for them...

  9. I would assume that the kids would stay where they are. Being looked after by their father.

  10. I think you are under the misapprehension that the husband is the father of the children. I think the money (& kids) go to bio father.

I can't understand why we should all be so awed by the desire to leave a couple of millionaire kids behind.

  11. My first dip into this blog - didn't expect it to be like turning over a stone - such nastiness.

  12. The ever-pithy Noel Gallagher put it rather well in The Sunday Times:

"I was watching the TV today and they’re all outside her house," he says. "There’s a global crisis apparently going on, and it’s 'Jack Straw, could you have a look at this?' Max Clifford somehow manages to shape the mood of the nation.

"I mean, I’ve got f*** all against Jade Goody, that’s nothing to do with me. But it bends my head. That, to me, sums up, in one tiny five-minute thing on the news, what an embarrassing place Britain is right now. You might as well shut No 10 Downing Street down and get Max Clifford to run the country."

  13. Under the circumstances, tragic as they are, one might have accorded Jack the Lad und Jade´s mum the benefit of the doubt, but Bryan is right about one thing, of course, the more you stir shit the more it smells...

  14. The thing I dislike about this whole affair(actually there's many things I dislike) is this fawning admiration of Jade selling her death to the highest bidders in order to leave money to her sons. Millions of children grow up without money and they do fine. The suggestion seems to be that they'll be okay without their mother because she's leaving them so much cash....rotten.

  15. May I say, Bryan, how much I have enjoyed the postings on your blog since 7 March 2009. They began to improve beyond all recognition on that day. If only all the other bloggers could have followed your lead and made such intelligent and relevant contributions to the sum of human knowledge over the last six days.
