A blog about, among other things, imaginary ideas - What ifs? and Imagine thats. What if photographs looked nothing like what we see with our eyes? Imagine that the Berlin Wall had never come down. What if we were the punchline of an interminable joke? All contributions welcome.
It's an attack on free speech. Fruitcakes like the Scientologists should be allowed to air their views. While they are clearly bonkers, they are nonetheless entertaining. Ok, fair enough, there is a rather sinister side to them, but at least if they are out in the open they can be watched.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it's the same 'Anonymous' who's always commenting on this blog. Or John Sweeney...

ReplyDeleteAre they? Can they be? It seems to me, no. That said, I do agree with you: they have the same right of free speech the rest of have (or had, as the case may be, if anyone lives in Canada). Then again, they regularly use their overwhelming power, influence and money to silence their critics. And unlike you, I do not find them the least bit entertaining.
there are more of them than the scientologists, they should win if only they knew who was on their side.
ReplyDeleteOf course, you're right, Randy. I'm sure they won't be posting anything on the website about their more disreputable and nefarious activities. By that, I mean preying on very vulnerable people like Tom Cruise. However, I wasn't aware they were a force to be reckoned with in the greater scheme of things. They're not part of the axis of evil. In other words, they're small potatoes.
