... But Is It Art?

Here's a most ingenious defence, and potentially an exciting new area for Art to explore (perhaps with the aid of a generous Arts Council grant). Stone is clearly an advanced thinker, though arguably De Quincey got there first with his essay On Murder, Considered As One Of The Fine Arts.

  2. The legal system can always argue that his trial, imprisonment and execution are likewise art.

  4. If art can be defined by its commercial value then Luciens fat naked tart on a bed must be up there with the (second) best. We used to do legalised murder over here duck, before we lost our caveman status.

  5. Couldn't one argue that we're depriving him of freedom of speech and so on, other basic human rights (including the right to kill), and just let him get on with it?
