  1. Good Lord is there no escape??? Hold on! Are they paying you Bryan?! If so, well done.

  2. Gordon Brown is behind this, isn't he?

  3. Are you serious? If you're being ironic, that's good, but if you're serious...

  4. There are ads,Gordon, look at them and more to come. Not irony. And, wifey, Gordon Brown is behind everything.

  5. On Firefox, they're bigger than your main column and overlap horribly into your profile. Is there some deeper meaning to this? Advertising encroaching into the private space of the individual?

(Look, I'm trying my best to sound more intelligent than I really am but I'm under instructions to post more comments.)

  8. You may have adverts, but I filter them - so it all still looks the same to me! Thank you Firefox!

  9. That's why I prefer the ads for SausageSpace I have on my site. I can't persuade you to change your mind, Bryan?

  10. Little subtle Amazon ads are ok but these are nasty.

They'd better be making some serious money to justify the appalling ugliness you have bestowed on your hitherto aesthetically pleasing site.

  12. Ooops. Sorry - wrong blog.

  13. Firefox with AdBlock Plus. I don't even see the ads on my own site. Sorry.

  14. I dunno, Bryan. All these flashing ads....I would rather block them than read them (except I can't figure out how to do it with my Internet browser). If they're paying you, though, I guess that's a good thing. But can blogs still be subversive once they become part of the establishment -- selling ad space, etc.?

  15. Bryan, I have Google's ads on my site so I totally appreciate why you’ve chosen this route. And if you can have a drink once in a while off the revenue you'll get from the ads, then it has to be reward for all the effort you put into this blog.

  16. Good to meet you at The Smith Institute. Sir Bryan has a nice ring to it, agreed. Sadly I will have to tax the ads.

  17. It does? I can't see them, Bryan. For a small pecentage of the take, however, I'll be happy to look at them and even click-through. Drop me a line with your opening offer and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
