Student Initiations

It's almost heartening the way from generation to generation young people find ever more elaborate ways of making each other miserable. Progress is such an absurd dream.

  1. Well students do a heck of a lot of vomiting, so presumably this is newsworthy because of the 'Nazi-style' uniforms.

If so, it shouldn't be. Britain is great because Nazi uniforms are comic, not disturbing.

  2. I refer you to Holy Scripture, aka. the Matrix:

    AGENT SMITH:
Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world? Where none suffered, where everyone would be happy. It was a disaster. No one would accept the program. Entire crops were lost.

Some believed we lacked the programming language to describe your perfect world. But I believe that, as a species, human beings define their reality through suffering and misery.

The perfect world was a dream that your primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from. Which is why the Matrix was re-designed to this: the peak of your civilization.

  3. What is sorely needed in the universal struggle to understand the workings of the student mind is a cursor that when pointed at any students head magically produces a context menu giving a brief but illuminating synopsis.
Personally I gave up when visiting student digs I found that they had the TV balanced atop a cardboard box. Why?, "if the detector van man knocks, we can drop it into the box"
That was 14 years ago. Today this group of ex students bring you the latest and best in automotive design.

  4. Progress is an absurd dream? Not been to the dentist lately, then?
