Iran
It's easy to make futile and self-flattering political gestures from the comfort of home, but sometimes it's necessary. I'm with Andrew on this one. The bienpensant, anti-American attempt to normalise post-revolutionary Iran seems to have failed.

I think we've just witnessed the confirmation that breaking news will never be the same again. The whole set of web-supported means of communication must now be considered the best medium for breaking news from hard-to-access situations.
