Labor Day Etiquette
Happy Labor Day, guys. I note that one is not now allowed to wear one's straw cowboy hat until Memorial Day. The felt one with ostrich feathers and silver filigree will have to suffice. But I also note that fashion magazines are calling people who wear white after Labor Day 'innovatice, creative and bold.' I shall be in the States again soon, clad from head to foot in white and wearing my finest straw hat. That'll show 'em.

Don't forget the boots.
ReplyDeleteMy brother and his family evacuated New Orleans yesterday. This isn't gonna be a good Labor Day for us.
ReplyDeleteIs that because they are coming to stay with you Susan?
ReplyDeleteThat business about not wearing straws before Memorial Day or after Labor Day has long been ignored, Bryan. In Philadelphia especially warm weather can arrive early and hang around well into October. I wear my straws whenever I feel like it - and I am not alone.
