Welcome to the Hotel Nowhere

Brilliant - convert oil rigs into hotels. Just the thing for people who don't actually want to go anywhere. I like to think the rooms arriving on the container ship already have people in them. Bankers perhaps, they like water skiiing, or so I'm told.

  1. 'The Sea, The Sea' - perhaps Iris Murdoch's sales will improve... But I fear the opposite. Afterall 'novice-shagging' has overtaken reading as a pastime today, has it not? (Red tops deliver.) Enid Blyton can finally be laid to rest, surely?

Whatever happened to youth and the ageless wonder of innocence and imagination? (Money-spinning corrupting and corruptible amoral and immoral parents, that's what.)

But give me the sea all round (a calm one) and I will remain calm. Not my idea of a romantic break though - that needs solid terra firma at all times, even if only on the horizon...
