Brown: Stalinism and Contempt

Excellent. Lord Turnbull, having perused my incisive analysis of Gordon Brown, has emerged from the shadows to accuse him of 'Stalinist ruthlessness' and 'complete contempt' for his colleagues. It is still possible that we may be spared the premiership of this dreadful man. Blair should stay on, spinning those silly inishyativs to keep himself occupied.

  1. Perhaps Brown's colleagues are deserving of his contempt? The Darks are no fans of 'Beadle' Brown, but the rest don't amount to much either. Tessa Jowell? Patricia Hewitt? Basher Reid? Margaret Beckett? Fat 'Charlie' Falconer? We're sick of seeing their faces. Just as Blair deserves the label 'poodle' for not walking out when Bush, seated and gormlessly chewing his breakfast with his mouth open, said 'Yo Blair' rather than stand- as he should- to greet a British Prime Minister, whose main concern, tellingly, was that a microphone was on. Just a thought.

  2. Good point, Dark, I'd noticed Bush's dreadful eating habits. Just shows how far these kind of right-wingers are from true conservatism.

  3. Yes siree Bryan. You can't detach 'pres' from his cheese burgers, Starbucks and big Cokes, nor Blair from his mug of tea. In a past life when I fancied being Johnnie Reb I used to insist that my 'southern gentlemen' students removed their (invariably) reversed base-ball caps. And they did as I looked darkly at their jugulars. One of my older esteemed colleagues went further after a morning of too many Brandy Alexanders by producing a box of old ties. Trouble was they all had fat necks.

  4. I do hope Bliar stays on. I have a fiver on at Betfair that he'll still be there in 2008!

I’m wondering if we’ll see Broon in Scotland in the run up to the Holyrood elections. It’s a real dilemma for him. If Labour gets a trouncing in the polls (quite likely) then he’ll not want to be associated with the thrashing at the hands of the Salmon and Little Nicola. BUT can he afford not to be here to lend his weight to the campaign and show that he’s a Scot through and through and wants to do everything possible to help Six Pack back.
