Dave Barry on Us
FYI - Dave Barry, the great guy's guy of the Miami Herald, is in London and blogging about us - 'for some reason Independence Day is not considered a major holiday here in England'. Not to be missed.

oh there's an errant comma - good to see things going unnoticed like that. just add water, what's that about then?
ReplyDeletehey, was Miami, FLA even in the bloody union on independence day? I think not!
That Independence Day commemorates when the US broke itself free from the evils of empire building in general & the British Empire in particular, & those two nation states began acting as though they were two separate nation states? I hate to tell you, Dave, were you here to read it, but it certainly looks from the outside that as though you're not independent of each other.
ReplyDeleteBryan I wonder whether someone was trying to make you think that it was Dave Barry who called you a d----w-d. He was after all advised about your being "locked in Blogger Hell, unable to communicate on [your] blog." I doubt he did. Even though he's been known to use such guy words as b--g-r I don't believe there's any conclusive evidence that he's ever used the word d----w-d in writing though it may have been used in a comment or two at his blog.
ReplyDeleteGood grief, Ronin got me in there. Thanks for letting me know, Dave. I can't see Mr Barry spending a lot of time on Blogger 'discussion' groups somehow.

ReplyDeleteI guess it depends on which independence day you are talking about. We have one every year.
I just noticed the headline of the paper next to the report of the weather. "Win tickets to see editors". Is this something that is popular in England?
