Thank You, Fiona Millar
Fiona Millar, ex-Blair adviser and partner to Alastair Campbell, writes in The Guardian about the Cherie Blair documentary. Seldom has any article so successfully raised my spirits, making me feel not only fantastically gifted but also wonderfully kind and generous. It achieves this by being a) horribly written and b) gloriously small-minded. Peevish, bitchy and sneering, Millar makes The Thick of It look like Yes Minister.

A blog about, among other things, imaginary ideas - What ifs? and Imagine thats. What if photographs looked nothing like what we see with our eyes? Imagine that the Berlin Wall had never come down. What if we were the punchline of an interminable joke? All contributions welcome.
For large parts of the article I was confused into thinking it was about Fiona Miller and not Cherie whatever her name is. However, bitchy it maybe but there were bits of it that I enjoyed. Mrs. Ex-PM would have no qualms about doing the same if the roles were reversed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder of Yes, Minister. That was such a wonderful show. We were lucky to have it on PBS here in the states. Paul Eddington and Nigel Hawthorne were such talented actors, the kind you rarely see on American TV.
