Oh...

...well, back to normal. It was all a dream - though, as John Ashbery says somewhere, the 'all' signals clearly enough that it wasn't.

    I feel for you, Bryan. Our Phillies were doing so well -- as usual, it looked like we were going to have a post-season -- but, oh no, foolish fans (comme moi) got our hopes up too soon. Last night I watched the boys in red pinstripes lose their fourth in a row. It's just depressing.

    Why do we bother to hope, knowing, always, how it will end?

    well I know nothing of this but if I did I wouldn't support a top team like the Arsenal. Or Liverpool or Man U. for that matter. What's to be gained by it?

    If they win, they can only breathe a sigh of relief, and when they lose they never live it down.

    The only way up is to go with the underdog - Bryan's got it right!
