How Fast Must I Go?
This has come as something of a shock to your blogmeister. I was under the impression that the police with their speed cameras and stuff couldn't detect anything moving faster than 150mph. I had adjusted my driving habits accordingly. But, it seems, they can pick up cars doing 172 mph. I urgently need to know their top limit so that I can exceed it without fear of prosecution.

Speed of light would work (I think).
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody know why 'road safety campaigners' think speed cameras don't work?
ReplyDeleteI notice that failing to 'provide information' about who was driving the car (failing to admit your guilt so that the police can fine you) is to carry 6 points from now on whereas speeding still gets 3; maybe that gives us a clue.
The speed of light has the added advantage that unless the police are driving in tachyon cars, they can never catch you.
ReplyDeleteFunny. I was told by a friend who works in the police that they can't detect the colour orange and have trouble with Fiats. I hope he wasn't wrong, otherwise I've been driving an orange Fiat all these years for no reason.
ReplyDeleteI always find a generous dollop of farmyard mud foils most cameras regardless of your driving habits.
ReplyDeletetravelling at the speed of light plays havoc with the sat-nav, be warned. it begins to sound like Max Headroom; T-t-t-tu-tu-t-t-t-tur-t....
