Meerkats - A False Alarm

This blog is ever alert to the threat pose to human civilisation by our feathered and furry friends. Reports earlier in the week that meerkats had learnt to take photographs and were on the verge of rendering mere human photographers redundant (they'll work for peanuts) have, happily, proved unfounded. Annie Liebovitz can sleep sound.

  1. Best not to take "false alarm" to mean lulling ourselves into a false sense of security. Meerkats are often credited with amazing powers. The idea hasn't come from nowhere, so there must be a reason for it.

By the way, did you know that Shakespeare was a meerkat? Once you grasp this central fact, all the questions about the plays and who really wrote them immediately become clear.

  2. A novel and seductive theory, Mark. I shall endeavour to internalise it.

  3. Mark, that's clever, since in the first series of "Meerkat Manor" (narrated by BILL NIGHY), the cutest of the crew was indeed named Shakespeare.

But I'm sure you knew that.
